Yello is an exparimental Synth-Pop band from Zurich, Switzerland that consists of Dieter Meier, Boris Blank & former member Carlos Peron.
Boris Blank had had a facsination with music from a very young age, recording random sounds and toying around with them. Him and Carlos where the first two original members, but when they tried to get themselves signed to a record label, they were asked to get a vocalist.
Dieter Meier started his days as a professional gambler/poker player, but later moved to proformence art, which later got him in a punk band as a vocalist. Boris saw Dieter live once, and needing a vocalist for Yello, he turned to him and Yello were offically started sometime in the late 70s.
The group are most known for their song "Oh Yeah" which appeared in the soundtrack to "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", and since it's inception, has been ingrained in the anals of pop-culture with it's timeless, funky weirdness. Their also known in the UK for their top charting hit "The Race".
Even though Carlos Peron left in 1984, and their less active they than in the 80s, Yello are still putting out albums today. Dieter especially has had his work cut out for him, seeing as he now owns multiple restaurants, a wine brewery and even a chocolate factory!
