Tom Jenkinson, better known as Squarepusher, is an experimental electronic musician from Chelmsford, England.
When Tom was young, he played around with a very cheap cassette recorder, and had a strong intrest in electronics and computing. Later in life is when he also gained an intrest in guitar, and became a self-tought bass player. He would often combine these two intrests and use the computer as a drum machine and play bass to it.
Since his debut album, 1996's Feed Me Weird Things, he would always innovate on his style, but usually taking from Jazz, like Fusion and an overall improvised nature, and mixing it with electronic music, like Drum & Bass and Acid. This is also seen in his inspirations, like Herbie Handcock and Aphex Twin.
In the years to come, Squarepusher would garner much critical aclaim from around the world. He's still active and putting out albums and EPs today, he's still signed to Warp Records and Squarepusher is still Squarepusher.
Oh, and don't forget about Andy...!
